I feel like some kind of magician or something. I actually made a real hat... and it doesn't suck! Pictures are below --- the hat is a little wrinkled after a day at the beach, but it still looks like a real hat. A REAL HAT! Can you believe it? I can't!

Sew Cute!
I've finally made something Maggie likes to wear (Halloween costume doesn't count). Super simple pattern for a little dress that I've altered to make longer or shorter (as seen in pictures below) for a shirt. I just have to show off, I'm so proud of myself... I had a more than willing model.

Dance Recital 2011
Maggie's dance recital "All About Disney" was last week. It was only slightly less ridiculous than the last one. She had a great time, her routine was to "Once apon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. A few photos below, and more on Picasa if you click HERE.

Apple Orchard 2010
This past weekend we took our annual trip to the apple orchard...well, the first trip to the apple orchard. I would probably have something witty to write, but it's hard to be intelligent and quick-witted when you have a two-year-old whining about "it's her turn on the 'puter" sitting right next to you. Until I regain my sense of humor, photos with have to do...

A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Veterinarian
OK, so she's either going to be a country singer with a strong rock and roll sensibility... or a veterinarian.

I think it's particularly highlarious that the dog is wearing one of her plastic bandages. Good dog.

State Fair
It's time for the Iowa State Fair again! We took our annual family vacation to Des Moines this past weekend, continuing our ongoing quest to eat the most lard-laden, artery-blocking, lip-smacking good food "on a stick" imaginable. There's nothing quite like the smell of sweat, beer, and corn dogs at 10am. Oh, and there are the animals, and the rides, and the ridiculously cute little girls (Maggie, Catie, and their cousin) experiencing these things for the first (or second) time. Below are pictures from our trip. I hope to have time to write more about our adventures soon, but I'm still unpacking chocolate covered bacon... on a stick... from our suitcase.
