Mama Down!
I'm sick. So much for all that "healthy" living I've been doing. I think that's actually what got me sick - everything was fine until I went to the gym yesterday, then by last night I could tell my lymph nodes were swollen, and now I'm just sore all over with a low-grade fever. Who gets a flu in the middle of summer? THIS girl, that's who. There should be a mom pill for mom flu, I honestly think that it's more important that MOM is feeling 100% than it is the President. Sure, he has to keep Libya from blowing up, but I have to keep two babies fed, clean, and happy. I'm sure all you mama's out there know that's no easy task (negotiating with a toddler definitely takes more skill than negotiating with a world leader....I'm sure it does). GAWD... even my hair hurts! I hate that. I hate being sick. Maggie has been mostly understanding, she sat in my bed with me and asked every so often "Are you feeling better Mom?" and that really is so sweet... it almost made it OK that she did a somersault right on to my head while jumping on the bed. Almost.

I Made A Hat!
I feel like some kind of magician or something. I actually made a real hat... and it doesn't suck! Pictures are below --- the hat is a little wrinkled after a day at the beach, but it still looks like a real hat. A REAL HAT! Can you believe it? I can't!

Rapunzel Dance Party
Our new favorite music (thank you Erin) is the Rapunzel soundtrack and yesterday Maggie AND Catie decided to have a little dance party. Of course Catie stopped most of her moves as soon as I picked up the camera, but if you watch her at the beginning you can see her do the moonwalk.... or, I mean, bounce up and down a little bit. Enjoy...

Baby's First Ice Cream
I mean, honestly... is there anything cuter than watching a baby eat her first ice cream cone? No. No there is not.
Yesterday we were a little let down by the local "fun fair" (not really a fair, not really fun) so we decided to treat the girls to some Dairy Queen instead. Catie got her first big-girl "baby" cone. I held it up to her lips and she kinda kissed it and looked a little surprised. Before I could pull the cone away she opened her mouth wide and tried to shove the entire top of the ice cream into her mouth with both hands. I pulled her hands away with one arm and tried to maneuver the cone out of the way while holding her with the other arm. You know how a cartoon dog looks when it's snarling and biting, trying to catch a cat through a chain-link fence? That's kind of how Catie looked trying to get her ice cream cone through my defenses.
We took her outside (to minimize the damage to the shop) and sat her on a table so I could have better control over her extremities and she calmed down enough to take bite after bite, slurping up all the ice cream and every last crumb of the cone. If she had the dexterity to lick her fingers one-by-one I think she would have done it. She was very pleased with herself... until she noticed that I had yet to touch my mini-Blizzard. She informed me through a series of squawks that she would be happy to take some of that Blizzard off my hands. Yum, yum, yummy.
